日は懐かしい歌で「チャイティオの星」。 チャイティオはミャンマーの中でも、細く聳える山々の中にある、仙人の住むような崖の中にある小さな仏教都市で、標高もずいぶん高いので、少し崖を登ると、本当に星が掴めそうなくらい近く感じるのです。空気が澄んでいて、他の明かりもないから、少しクラッとするからでしょうか。
