Votive Performance at Mount Haguro Shrine 

A space layered with 1,400 years of accumulated prayers will return a sound back into the void unless it is truly manifested from the depth of being. As I gave voice to the sounds, it became a life-or-death devotion.

The waterfall trekking that followed was incredibly beautiful. I was deeply moved by the profound depth of Tohoku’s mountains and the pristine beauty of the water.

To everyone who took care of me, and to those who traveled from afar to be there—thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I look forward to returning there again, with a mind fully prepared and humbled.
