The year 2021 has started and we have already passed the half of January. Since it’s been difficult to see you at our live performances, I’d like to introduce you to some of the songs i’ve written so far ☺️.
The first one is “Kamigataki” from the CD “Dear My Land” released in 2012. I met this waterfall around the border of Yamanashi and Nagano prefectures, and it made me feel nostalgic. The name is “Kamigataki”. I wonder if the people of the ancient times encountered this waterfall and thought it is a god. It is a beautiful waterfall with dancing light.
In fact, I often write, or rather, come up with, songs like this invocation (improvised prayer). Sometimes I feel invocation is the most closest way of becoming one with the waterfall, and sharing how it feels to be.But it is difficult to put them into a form such as an album, so I tend to leave them as they are. (In “Dear My Land,” I included them as a prologue…)
sometimes, when I listen to such sounds from the past, the scenery, light, and breath of life that I encountered at that time come back to me, and it makes me happy. And I wonder if it would be better to leave it as it is, to let you encounter that scenery… I think. This is one such song.
May the breath of the beautiful waterfall spread in your room.
